Homemade, freshly baked bread. Milk makes it soft & fluffy and honey gives a mild sweetness.
I chose sesame and sunflower seeds for the final touch.

A simple recipe even for beginners.

Ingredients

  • 550 g bread flour
  • 25 g fresh yeast
  • 300 ml warm milk
  • 50 ml olive oil
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 50 ml water
  • hulled sesame seeds
  • unhulled sesame seeds
  • sunflower seeds

Instructions

1
Combine yeast, honey and about 50ml of the measured milk.
Stir well until yeast and honey are completely dissolved.

2
In the bowl of your mixer, put flour and salt.
Blend for a few seconds.

3
Add the yeast mixture and the olive oil.
Start mixing on low speed.

4
Add the milk.
Knead on medium speed for 7min, then on high speed for 3min.

5
Once the sides of your bowl are clean, take the dough out & knead it with your hands for 5min.

6
Shape it into a ball and put it in a lightly oiled bowl. Cut a deep cross into the center of the ball. Cover with plastic wrap and let it rise for 1 hour in a warm spot.

7
Press gently and deflate the dough. Weigh and divide it into 7 equal pieces.

8
Line a round baking pan with parchment paper. (32cm / 12.6″ diameter)

9
Roll the pieces into smooth balls and put them into the baking pan. Arrange 6 balls around a central one to form a daisy.

10
Cover with plastic and place it in a warm spot until it’s doubled in size.

11
Dissolve sugar in water and brush the buns.

12
Sprinkle with seeds while the dough is still wet, so that they stick.

13
Bake in a preheated oven, at 200°C / 400°F, for about 35min, until a skewer comes out clean.

14
Enjoy!
